Sights
and excursions - on his own initiative the One "Must" for every
guest are naturally the castle which is enthroned very much extensively
on Burgberg - one should look them(her) in any case, even if is not rest
any more too much out of the outside walls and the rests(remainders) of
some buildings. The look compensates for a lot, and the inside of the castle
is - overgrows particularly in the spring - wildly romantic from flowers. Here more about the history(story) of the castle and every amount of numbers and facts you think. in the " Red tower " (builds 1225), to another landmark Alanyas, a small, but lovingly formed museum about the " old Alanya " is furnished. One finds another small museum near the Kleopatra beach. There also lies the Damlatas cave which is known for their(her) special air relations (constantly 22 ° C, carbonated and a little bit radioactive air) and to which unhurt effect is ascribed for all possible disability. |

With a rented jeep or by taxi one can escape to one of the innumerable picnic restaurants along the river of "Dimcay" of the heat. On ankle-deep from water (coldly!!!) to überspülten terraces, tree-houses with mattresses and low tables or in the middle of the river of built pavilion one can eat trout or chicken, grill brought himself or lie simply rottenly rum and can be spoiled with tea... A small type: the farther one in the mountains direction dam (which will be finished perhaps even irgenwann), the less "tourismuslastig" becomes the picnic space. The comfort leaves perhaps also something after ridge class toilets then one may also not expect any more, but for it it is more positive and for those which would like to experience rather " Turkish life purely ", it is certainly more interesting there. |
| Approx.
15 kms farther in the mountains the "Dim cave", is only since
1997 for the tourism opened limestone cave. The cave is not very big, but
impressively lights up and is well developed. It is a special experience
if a flute player stands in a dark corner and quiet, sad music plays ....
by the special acoustics one hears the quiet sounds(clay) almost in the
whole cave. Then the goose-skin adjusts itself not only by the damp, cool
air in the cave.. . But the air does not seem to be very recommendable for people with cycle problems - to me became a little bit dizzy ...... Other |

So the city itself obstructs is, the Taurus mountains immediately beginning behind the last houses radiate such a wild and rauen charm. One finds fantastic views of the far away sea, steep ravines, vertiginous zigzags and a delightfully clear air so closely in the city like certainly nowhere else. Particularly in the early spring a fresh and clear atmosphere rules there at the top, in the early morning fog patches still hang in the shady corners and the dew glitters in the morning sun. For Alanya rather unusual is the silence which rules up here.... In summer still comes another advantage: there at the top it is always cool some degrees than below by the sea, even at the end of March it can still be that one finds isolated snow spots. | |
| Far away one can look in the snow-covered tops of the Akdag still till April if below on the beach already the first brave go to the water....In this landscape one can get drunk " ". Here naturally the tourism also stretches his(its) feelers, few places are really unaffected. But an excursion with the jeep or motor scooter " on the Yayla " - the alpine pastures with the summer houses - is worthwhile each time .... who, really, time has, can chug along on a grit way in the "donkey carts tempo" to Konya.... | ![]() |

Other trips Who would like to see somewhat of the surroundings, direction Gazipasa should start by a hired car: the last houses Alanyas have hardly disappeared, the street becomes closer, the banana plantations reach till the street and on the right the slope drops steeply till sea.If one has after an interstop in Gazipasa (which itself does not have to offer a lot) not yet enough "landscape" seen, direction Anamur should farther go: Here the landscape becomes really breathtaking.... Much higher the street screws itself, since the sea is to be recognized only than blue glimmer right down at the bottom. Then it is in close zigzags again to the sea there ... only the trip is an experience. This distance is suitable for every sort of vehicle (out of roller), a special driving enjoyment is they(she), however, for motorcyclist. Who wants to Anamur, should consider that one can count only on an average speed of approx. 40 km/h. For approx. 120 kms one should plan at least-4 hours(lessons). Careful going is in any case angeraten: here drive a lot of TRUCK on the way to Mersin. Who does not have then yet enough, can go to Kiz Kalesi where one can visit the famous moated castle. |

| The
special trip In the counterdirection a trip is worthwhile to the Manavgat reservoir which still lies far behind the "waterfalls" (rather a "little waterfall"). Best a jeep or - is been suitable here but only for ground-practiced drivers - a ground motor cycle (mind. 250 cross-connect multiplexers - because of the upward gradients - and better not with partner!). Also here one goes by a completely lonely, green landscape, since one hits after approx. 20 kms on a "road block". As an unsuspecting guest one is inclined to murmur quiet "excuse" and to turn back again... |
|
But
one must sign up only with the employee looking importantly and seriously
on a book, deliver his(its) passport and fix a little plaque in the shirt
- at least during the summer months that is no problem. With the return
trip the plaque is exchanged again for the passport. The reservoir supplies
the whole region with current and, therefore, is " a military restricted
area ". After one has passed the power plant, one soon looks at 120
m of high, impressive dam. After a 10 kms long zigzag trip one stands
on the wall by telling lies height and looks marvelling at the deep blue,
quiet sea(lake).... The crystal clear cold water invites to the swimming. But caution: already one or two swimming trains of the bank removed the reason drops steeply, the sea(lake) becomes bottomless. Farther at the middle whirlpools seem to be there, caution is offered, wide especially and widely no help is to be expected. |

Also the nearer surroundings of the lake are worth absolutely an investigation, you try the nice "Gözleme", a sort of flour pancake which is prepared with fresh parsley and cheese (mostly from cow's milk) on an upwards curved metal plate on open fire. In addition one drinks Ayran - really nicely and very much feeding!... |
