Baby an cosmetics
Alanya is a city also without tourists, one should not forget this. Therefore one can assume of the fact that one receives this what one can also buy in Germany: from Maggi to Dreiwettertaft, from Chappi to Pampers, from Sheba (a party for cats;-)) to Alete. But particularly baby food is extremely expensive (approx. 4-5 Eur), because as a luxury classified. If you are in a hotel, ask whether the kitchen to you prepares some dinners baby-fair - with a small tip for the cook that might be no problem. If you are in an apartment, prepare the baby food rather freshly, the Turkish vegetable is very fresh as a rule (i.e. with all vitamins) and does not treat chemically. You should take water, however, not from the administration(pipe), but from the bottle.
As well it behaves with shampoo and shower gel: certainly, everything is to be agreed, also, e.g., colours of hair, but it costs possibly triple like in Germany. Bring to yourselves their(her) nursing products or make way on native brands(stamps), e.g., "hobby" in different sorts of perfume, as a shower gel, shampoo and flushing, is relatively positive and to recommend very much!
Medical care
Similarly it is with medicaments. In Alanya there is on every corner an ECZANE which sells most medicaments usual in Germany, included such things like Xenical or Viagra, naturally like everything other over-the-counter and cheaper than in German pharmacies. Partly the pharmacist carries out small treatments also himself, puts on, e.g., an association and also makes already the eye-drops pure. With a good pharmacist one can save himself actually in a lot of cases the doctor. Also the pill is to be agreed problem-free. In Alanya there are German-speaking doctors and several good private hospitals. However, international medical insurance cards are not accepted in most cases - before ask!
Teeth
If tolerates a little bit no postponement, these are toothaches in the vacation. But no fear: Medically Alanya is well supplied. And also if the health insurance scheme does not pay in spite of foreign medical insurance card, you are not thereby torn certainly(safely) in the financial ruin: a china crown costs here between 200, - and 250 DM. However, it is meaningful to agree before on a fixed price, even if the nerve still raves so.
Glasses and contactlenses
One can buy preservative agent for contact lenses in the pharmacies, the quality is good - mostly it is about American products. For eyeglass wearer a stroll is worthwhile by the optician's shops, certainly, the racks are in price "only approximately 10 - 20% cheaper than in Germany, for it the glasses are partly sensational positively ... and naturally the optician needs no whole week to miss new glasses to you. Take, however, best your "glasses passport" or ask before from the oculist for the exact data, because the Turkish opticians may carry out keien measurement - the oculist takes 45 Eur for the examination (May, 2002)!
