Alanya approximately 130 kms lie southeast of the provincial centre and the airport of Antalya. The city takes the most south end of the tourist's centers along the endless sandy beaches of the Turkish Riviera what she does the ideal starting point for excursions to "original" Turkey, without one must renounce the well developed infrastructure of the well opened coastal towns. |

Alanya has a typical Mediterranean climate, with hot summers and mild, but wet winters. By this protected position everything grows in fruit and vegetable what one can introduce himself: lemons, Oran gene, bananas, melons, already in March strawberries, in May apricots, peaches, late figs and the whole year about tomatoes, courgette and aubergines. In summer the Friday market about from fruits, colors, smells pours.... |

The most beautiful time to do in Alanya vacation, is the May and June and September / October. Then at night it will move relatively cool, but the daytime temperatures often about 25-30 °C. One can swim in Alanya often to far in November in. |

The first - hot yearned - rain falls mostly at the end of August. However, the time of the violent thunderstorms is October with which within the shortest time water masses of sizes unknown in Germany of the sky fall. However, day-long continuous rain is unknown. How in all seacoasts the weather can overturn very quickly from one extreme in the other. If the sun appears, one can also enjoy in "winter", also December till the beginning of March, on the beach quiet then temperatures around 20 °C. |

However, an exception of the rule was the winter, 2001/2002 in which it was raining lasting for days in the piece and only stopped to rain actually if a thunderstorm or a storm arose. For those which lived in Alanya, it was quite difficult, because one is not put, really, on a 2-months cold spell and wet period. But Alanya still got away mild, in contrast to Manvagat (where the river flows through the middle of the city centre) or the southeast coast (Kizkalesi, Anamur, Mersin) for weeks virtually permanently under water stood and many people(persons) lost their(her) existence.

Again it is reported on these illnesses, particularly the failure(diarrhoea) and cycle problems, vomitings and stomachaches are gladly assigned to " bad dinner in Turkey ".... However, mostly particularly the failure(diarrhoea) and the stomach problem has to do less with dinner than even more with the stupidity of the holiday-makers: the combination from little sleep, often a lot of alcohol, too little and too cold beverages, the heat and the unusual air humidity care for the fact that the stomach already shows the red ticket(map). In the least cases it is spoiled dinner if it already lies with it, it can be the as well unusual lamb or goat meat or the olive oil which is applied plentifully. One should take to heart the following advice: a highest rule: A LOT DRINK!! Namely in the best water from the bottle, not ice-coldly, or still better: the pervasive tea. To the first both days eat best something light(easy), with little fat do not lie in the firm sun. Also under the screen one will use brown high sun protection factor (LSF 20) and fresh lotion, not from the last year! To every Baden in the sea showers, a lot of water drink and put cream again. Headgear carry good sunglasses (also from " verblitzen eyes " there can be headaches and nausea! Before the way(walk) to the beach the breakfast not too excessively, even if the nice Büffett in addition tempted advice like " little alcohol and a lot of sleep " I keep back to me here better;-))) |
